Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Policy for Castle App
This Digital Millennium Copyright Act Policy (“Policy”) is applicable to the Castle App (“App,” “Service”) and any of its associated products and services (“Services”). It details how the operators of this App (“Operator,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handle notifications of copyright infringement and outlines the process for you (“you” or “your”) to submit a copyright infringement complaint.
We consider the protection of intellectual property to be of the utmost importance and require our users and their authorized agents to uphold the same standard. Our policy is to respond promptly to clear and compliant notifications of alleged copyright infringement as outlined in the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) of 1998. The full text of the DMCA is available on the U.S. Copyright Office website.
What to Consider Before Submitting a Copyright Complaint
If you are uncertain whether the material you intend to report is, in fact, infringing, we suggest you consult with an attorney before filing a notification with us. The DMCA requires you to provide your personal information as part of a copyright infringement notification. If you have concerns about the privacy of your personal information, you may want to use an agent to report the infringing material on your behalf.
Notifications of Infringement
If you are a copyright owner or an agent acting on their behalf and believe that any material available on our Services infringes your copyrights, you may submit a written copyright infringement notification (“Notification”) pursuant to the DMCA. All such Notifications must meet the requirements of the DMCA.
Submitting a DMCA complaint initiates a predefined legal process. Your complaint will be reviewed for accuracy, validity, and completeness. If your complaint meets these requirements, our response may include the removal or restriction of access to the material alleged to be infringing.
Should we remove or restrict access to materials or terminate an account in response to a Notification, we will make a good-faith effort to contact the user affected by the removal or restriction.
Please be aware that the Operator reserves the right to take no action upon receipt of a DMCA copyright infringement notification if it does not comply with all the requirements of the DMCA.
Changes and Amendments
We reserve the right to modify this Policy or its terms relating to the App and Services at any time, at our discretion. When we do, we may provide notice to you through various means, such as through the contact information you have provided or through a notification within the App itself.
An updated version of this Policy becomes effective immediately upon being posted unless specified otherwise. Your continued use of the App and its Services after the effective date of the revised Policy will constitute your consent to those changes.
Reporting Copyright Infringement
To notify us of any infringing material or activity, please use the customer service or support options available within the Castle App. Premium users receive prioritized customer service support.
